The plans for the 2026 season are officially set: Maximilian Kochendörfer will take the next step in his young motorsport career by joining the Austrian Team Wimmer Werk Motorsport for a full campaign in the TCR European Endurance Series. He will compete at the wheel of a Seat Leon Cupra TCR, marking his first full season in international touring car competition.
This move represents a significant progression for the 22-year-old German driver, after two years in national series like the BMW 318ti Cup and the BMW Challenge.
Kochendörfer expressed his enthusiasm ahead of the new challenge:
“I’m very happy to join Wimmer Werk Motorsport and to take on this new challenge in the GTC Endurance Challenge. I’m really looking forward to the new car and to learning as much as possible within the GTC series and the Driving Program. After our very positive test together, I’m excited to work closely with the team and I’ll give everything to be fully prepared for the 2026 season,” Kochendörfer said.
The season opener is scheduled to take place at Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy from 17th to 19th April 2026, marking the beginning of what promises to be an exciting new season.
With this new opportunity, Kochendörfer aims to build on his experience and continue developing as a driver, this time on a European level.
